Discover the sacred practice of pule — the Hawaiian art of prayer used to seek guidance, open healing work, and give thanks to Na Akua and the ancestors.
Before healing work begins, there is prayer.
Before knowledge is received, there is prayer.
Before sacred work is opened, there is prayer.
In Hawaiian tradition this practice is known as pule.
Pule is not simply asking for something.
It is communication with Nā Akua and Nā Kūpuna — the higher beings and the ancestors who guide the living.
In this masterclass, Kumu Paʻa Kawika introduces the foundations of traditional Hawaiian prayer, known as pule, and the role prayer plays within Hawaiian spiritual and healing traditions.
