SACRED JOURNEY ON MOLOKAI ISLAND

Molokai The Most Hawaiian Island

reflecting its strong cultural roots and commitment to preserving traditional Hawaiian practices. Unlike other islands, Moloka‘i has remained relatively untouched by large-scale tourism, making it a sanctuary for those seeking an authentic Hawaiian experience. Its deep connection to ancestral knowledge, natural beauty, and the spirit of aloha ʻāina (love for the land) embodies the essence of old Hawai‘i

Molokai Huaka'i - Sacred Journey on Molokai Island

When:October 15-24

Where: Molokai Island.

Discover the timeless beauty and spiritual depth of Moloka‘i, the island celebrated as the child of the Moon Goddess Hina. This huakaʻi invites you to explore the sacred places where Hawaiian traditions were born, honoring ancient wisdom and healing.

Ka‘ana – The Birthplace of Hula

Begin your journey at Ka‘ana, the sacred site where the art of hula was first created by the goddess Laka. Legend tells that Laka gifted hula to Moloka‘i before it spread throughout the islands, and Ka‘ana remains a revered location for its profound cultural significance. Each year, this birthplace is honored during the Ka Hula Piko Festival, a testament to the island’s rich hula heritage.

Halawa Valley – The First Settlement of Moloka‘i

Step into Halawa Valley, a place steeped in history as the island's first settlement. This lush valley, nourished by cascading waterfalls, was once home to an ancient Hawaiian community sustained by its fertile land and abundant waters. Explore the valley’s breathtaking landscapes and witness the legacy of its early inhabitants.

Kamakou Preserve – A Boardwalk Through Nature’s Sanctuary

Walk through the Kamakou Preserve on a boardwalk that winds through rare Hawaiian rainforests. Home to endangered plants and birds found nowhere else on Earth, this preserve offers an intimate connection to Moloka‘i’s pristine natural beauty. Experience the awe of stepping into one of Hawai‘i’s most protected ecosystems

‘Āina Pūla Pūla – Hawaiian Healing Plants and Herbs

At ‘Āina Pūla Pūla, learn about the ancient healing practices of Hawai‘i. Here, you’ll explore the medicinal plants and herbs used by generations of healers to nurture the body and spirit. This is an opportunity to connect with the island’s deep traditions of natural medicine, passed down through the ages

Immerse in the Spirit of Hina

Throughout the huakaʻi, you’ll feel the guiding presence of Hina, the Moon Goddess, who symbolizes creativity, nurturing, and balance. Moloka‘i’s serene landscapes and spiritual significance make it the perfect place to rejuvenate the soul and embrace the timeless wisdom of the land.

This sacred journey through Moloka‘i offers a rare opportunity to experience the island’s untouched beauty and profound cultural legacy. Don’t miss your chance to walk in the footsteps of the ancestors and deepen your connection to the spirit of Hawai‘i.
